Over time, it acts as a scaffold for new tissue formation, promoting the body's own collagen synthesis for sustained structural improvement. It is a well-established treatment for facial contouring and volume loss.
How it works
Radiesse functions through a dual mechanism. Upon injection, the gel carrier provides an immediate volumizing and lifting effect, correcting wrinkles and folds instantly. Subsequently, over a period of weeks to months, the CaHA microspheres stimulate fibroblasts to produce new collagen (neocollagenesis). As the gel carrier is gradually metabolized, the new collagen network provides long-term structural support, improving skin quality, firmness, and elasticity for a lasting, natural result.
Clinical indications
Radiesse is indicated for subdermal or deep dermal implantation for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines. It is also widely used for non-surgical facial contouring of the cheeks and jawline to restore or enhance volume. The product's viscosity and elasticity make it suitable for providing structural lift. It is not recommended for use in the lips or periorbital area.
